Factfulness, by Hans Rosling, Flat Iron Books, NY, 2018. The author died in 2017 having devoted his last years to writing this book. His passion for exposing the truth about common misperceptions helps develop a positive outlook for the future. Most of us are not as well-traveled nor as informed as Hans Rosling who, as a physician, has been in and seen some of the world’s most impoverished countries where hunger and disease are declining in contrast to popular belief. We need to open our eyes and look beyond what the everyday press is feeding us. As we face the last third of our lives, Rosling’s book gives us considerable hope for an improving world.
