Quiet: The Power of Intorverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking, by Susan Cain, Crown Publishers, New York, 2012.As we transition into retirement, it is helpful to understand our personalities. This book can be empowering for those who tend to be more thoughtful than boisterous.  Susan Cain mentions “unleashing a passion” as well as the value of being “involved in core personal projects”.  In addition. the author discusses the great strengths of introverts, such as wisdom, creativity and close personal relationships. Many dentists possess these gifts and an understanding of how these gifts can be used in an environment of noise can be useful as we start looking at how we look at the years ahead.
