The Knowledge Illusion, Why we Never Think Alone,  by Steven Sloman and Phiip Fernbach, Riverhead Books, Penguin Random House, NY, NY 2017   Though we may assume that we think for ourselves, most of our actions are influenced by the thoughts and actions of those in our environment and long established paradigms. This book provides insight into why we think and act the way we do. When we look at our retirement decisions it is important to try to sort out paradigms and make decisions that are truly the best for us, our patients and our staffs.  We need to be careful not to retire because we’re “supposed to,”  but because we want to and have motivating plans in place to identify and use our strengths.
