The Number, by Lee Eisenberg, Free Press division of Simon and Schuster NY, NY, 2006. Early in the book, the author discusses just what “the Number” is. In addition to being about net worth it is also about self worth. It speaks of “success,” personal validation, and security for the future.
The book explores draw down rates, health care costs, inflation, longevity risk, and the importance of controlling living expenses. It is a “must read” for those planning retirement.
